The 2018 Honda Ridgeline in Katy Over the Colorado
Where to begin? The 2018 Honda Ridgeline in Katy is the truck for you! Packed with a multitude of features, you’ll be able to haul loads to the jobsite and then go directly to picking up the kids! Compared to the 2018 Chevrolet Colorado, the 2018 Honda Ridgeline has…
Excellent Safety Features
The Ridgeline has a standard Collision Mitigation Braking System on the RTL-E and Black Edition models while the Colorado offers an available collision warning system. The difference between the two systems is that the Colorado’s collision warning only warns the driver an impeding collision. The Ridgeline’s Collision Mitigation Braking system not only warns the driver of an impending collision, but if the system determines that a collision is imminent, the system will apply the brakes to avoid a full force collision or even avoid the collision all together. For further protection, the Ridgeline utilizes a safety cell construction with a three-dimensional high strength frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. The Colorado is designed with a body-on-frame which is less protective of the occupants.
Superior Suspension and Handling
The 2018 Ridgeline gives you a smoother ride with fully independent front and rear suspensions which gives the wheels the best angle when following the road and will allow them to easily grip the road. The Colorado has a solid rear axle and non-independent rear suspension. For cornering, the Ridgeline has standard front and rear stabilizing bars, keeping the vehicle flat and controlled. The Colorado does not have this feature. To smooth out the ride even further, the Ridgeline uses coil springs compared to the leaf springs of the Colorado. The coiled springs compress more progressively which offers more suspension travel for a smoother ride and helps prevent bottoming out in rougher terrain.
In terms of payload the Honda Ridgeline has a higher standard payload compared to the Colorado.
